This article serves as a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) resource regarding the discontinuation notice for customers of Rightworks Transaction Pro for QuickBooks Desktop using versions 6 and 7. 

 

Q: Why is Rightworks discontinuing Versions 6 and 7? 

A: The decision to end discontinue versions 6 and 7 is driven by our commitment to delivering a more innovative and enhanced experience with Rightworks Transaction Pro.  

As technology advances, it becomes necessary to discontinue support for older versions and focus our resources on improving the current version. Many of our customers have already successfully upgraded to Version 8 and are leveraging the latest time-saving convenience features and ongoing updates.  

 

Q: Will I be able to access or install version 6 or 7 of Transaction Pro after the discontinuation date? 

A: Unfortunately, no. After January 31, access to these versions will be discontinued, and you won't be able to use Transaction Pro without upgrading. We highly recommend upgrading to Version 8 as soon as possible to avoid any disruption. 

 

Q: What are the benefits of Version 8 and why should I upgrade? 

A: Great question! With Transaction Pro 8, you’ll not only experience the familiar experience of Transaction Pro that you’ve become accustomed to, but you’ll also experience the convenience of a unified installation file and unified product launcher, bringing all the Transaction Pro features, Importer, Exporter, and Delete into a single dashboard. No more toggling between files, saving you valuable time and simplifying your workflow.

Additionally, with version 8, you’ll benefit from new features and ongoing product maintenance to ensure you’ve the most reliable, most secure version of Transaction Pro available. Provided below are the latest release notes for Version 8: 

  

Version 8 of Transaction Pro, including Importer Only and Importer, Exporter, and Deleter PRO, is compatible with QuickBooks Pro and Premier 2024 (and prior versions), and QuickBooks Enterprise 24 (and prior versions). 

  

Version 8.2.3 Released 4/11/2023 

  • Importer: 
    • Fixed bug to resolve an issue when importing into Serial/Lot number fields in QuickBooks 2023. 

  

Version 8.2.2 Released 12/13/2022 

  • Updated Microsoft .NET Framework from 4.6 to 4.8 

  • Importer: 

    • Fixed bug when Customer: job field names exceed 41 characters. 

  

Version 8.01 Released 05/02/2022 

  • New certificate for setup installer 

  

Version 8.0 Released 01/22/2020 

  • Single installation file for all three applications (Importer, Exporter, and Deleter) 

  • Single launcher for all three applications (Importer, Exporter, and Deleter) 

  • Importer:  

    • Fixed bug with Serial/Lot # not importing with a Transfer Inventory import  
    • Fixed bug with Alias when updating Payee or Account 

  • Exporter:  

    • Added additional fields for Employee List export 
  • Deleter:  

    • Added active status to Item List query  

 

Q: How do I upgrade my Version 6/Version 7 products to V8? 

A: Follow these steps:

Q: I’m a Rightworks hosted cloud customer, will this impact my Transaction Pro account? 

A: No need to worry! As a hosted customer, your Transaction Pro account was already upgraded to Version 8 in the Fall of 2022. Your account will not be impacted, and you’ll continue to receive all the latest and greatest updates with your active service subscription.
