ISSUE

Rightworks Transaction Pro will not activate.

RESOLUTION

There are several reasons that Transaction Pro (TPro) will not activate.

1. Verify that the correct password is being used. The password is case sensitive and should not have any spaces.

2. Users must have full read/write permissions to both TPro folders installed. If the default locations were used during installation, the folders will be under MY DOCUMENTS and PROGRAM FILES (x86).

3. Verify that QB is not being launched in RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR mode. Neither QB nor TPro can be run in this mode.

    a. To check this, right-click on the QB icon and select PROPERTIES. Select the COMPATIBILITY tab. RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR should not be checked.

4. Verify that QB is not being run in compatibility mode. Neither QB nor TPro can be run in this mode.

    a. To check this, right-click on the QB icon and select PROPERTIES. Select the COMPATIBILITY tab. RUN THIS PROGRAM IN COMPATIBILITY MODE FOR should not be checked.

5. Reboot the computer after installing TPro. Some machines require a reboot to install TPro fully.

6. TPro may not have installed correctly or fully. Follow the steps below to reinstall:

    a. Uninstall TPro

    b. Reboot computer

    c. Reinstall TPro but select to install CUSTOM instead of TYPICAL and select to only install the main program and not the sample templates and color schemes

    d. Reboot computer

    e. Launch QB as ADMIN User and in SINGLE USER mode

    f. Launch TPro and select the third connection option YES, WHENEVER THIS COMPANY FILE IS OPEN

    g. Try again to activate TPro

7. Check to ensure that TLS 1.2 is enabled. (In modern Windows versions (Windows 11/10/8.1 or Windows Server 2022/2019/2016/2012R2), TLS 1.2 is enabled by default.)

8. If you are activating Version 8 please download the attached file at the bottom of this page: TProActivationErrorFix.bat

    a. Double-click the file to apply the fix; a black window may appear; this is normal.

    b. If the black window does not close automatically after 30 seconds, you may close it.

    c. Close and reopen the TPro Launcher, and click I have a License.

   d. Enter your activation information (Email Address and Product Key) on the next screen and click Activate.

**If the Product Key is needed, click on Re-Send to have the information emailed or contact TPro Support.

Transaction Pro Version 8 should be activated and ready for use.

9. If none of the above resolves the activation issue, please get in touch with TPro Support via chat or by emailing [email protected]
