Common Issues Importing Products & Services into QuickBooks Online

COMMON ISSUE RESOLUTION
Required parameter ExpenseAccountRef or IncomeAccountRef is missing in the request
  • Income Account is required on all Types.
  • Expense Account is required for type Inventory.
  • Expense Account is required for type NonInventory and Service if values are imported for Purchase Description or Purchase Cost.
Invalid account type
  • If type is Inventory, Inventory Asset Account must be an Account with the Account Type OTHER CURRENT ASSET and the Detail Type INVENTORY.
Invalid account type
  • If type is Inventory, Expense Account must be an Account with the Account Type COST OF GOODS SOLD and the Detail Type SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS.
Invalid account type
  • If type is Inventory, Income Account must be an Account with the Account Type INCOME and the Detail Type SALES OF PRODUCT INCOME.
Required parameter An inventory asset account is required
  • If type is Inventory, an Inventory Asset Account is required.
